Cyber Safety Assembly
On March 11th, 7th and 8th graders had an opportunity to hear from Safety Expert, Melissa Straub. With an extensive diverse background in law enforcement and education, Ms. Straub shared her experiences and knowledge with our students. Throughout the program, she stressed the importance of making wise decisions when using any form of technology and social media. Potential consequences of not being cyber smart were also addressed. The knowledge gained during this presentation can be utilized today and in the future.
Last week, 8th grade students met with Mrs. Spahn, Media Specialist, Civics teachers, and Ms. Brigida, School Counselor to learn about NJCAN Jr. (NJ Career Assistance Navigator). Students had an opportunity to set up individual accounts and complete a Career Cluster Inventory. Additionally, they navigated through the site to learn about the various features. NJCAN provides a variety of resources and wealth of information, which assist students in learning about themselves and careers. We encourage you to speak to your child about the program and work with them in completing other tools to learn about their strengths, interests, and talents. You may access the site at NJCAN.org.
